InvestBA has consistently documented how Brazilians are buying more high-rise and gated community properties in and around Punta del Este, so it was only a matter of time before one of Brazil’s most dynamic developers made the move to the balneario uruguayo. And Sao Paulo-based JHSF plans on making a high-end luxury splash with Las Piedras Villa & Hotel Fasano.
JHSF is building what they are dubbing the first Beach & Country in Uruguay with 38 villas, 30 seven-acre estancias and an upscale 20-bungalow hotel. The Brazilian company commenced Phase I construction in September 2009 following the acquisition of an 1,180-acre Maldonado estancia located three miles away from trendy La Barra.
A builder known for their commitment to sustainability, JHSF preserved and restored the estancia’s antique home which will serve as the lobby and bistro of the Fasano Hotel, the company’s first in Uruguay. Sensing a great diversification opportunity, JHSF purchased a majority equity interest in Hotel Fasano, one of CondeNast’s 50 Best, in 2007. The Las Piedras Hotel will continue the Fasano tradition of luxury and exclusivity with Low Season rates ranging from US$600-900 per night and US$800-1,200 in High Season.
InvestBA is currently marketing large estancias in Punta del Este and Montevideo which would be ideal locations for this type of luxury residential development. For more information, contact us directly and download the new issue of InvestBA Privada.
