New construction activity may have ground to a halt in more developed areas of Buenos Aires, but that’s not the case in the southern barrio of Parque Patricios.
The Buenos Aires Tech District and the generous tax incentives associated with launching or relocating a company in the district are spurring new commercial and residential construction, as well as the renovation of historic buildings in and around Parque Patricios.
According to the adjacent map from the the City’s Investor Attention Center (CAI), there are now 155 tech companies either operating in the District (Green) or in the process of moving to the District (Blue). Of the 155, over 100 with tech-centric names like Movilgate, Novatech, Sitepro, Megatech and Videoswitch have already opened their office in the District.
New development should continue to push further south now that the Subte’s H Line is reaching further into Nueva Pompeya which is good news for Tech District workers commuting from other areas of Capital Federal. The “H” currently intersects the “A” and “E” lines and will ultimately extend all the way north to Recoleta and Retiro.
