The Internet runneth over with images of McDonald’s-inspired Ferraris, videos of Ferraris at McDonald’s and stories of Audis crashing into McDonald’s, but this might be the first time a Ferrari crashed an Audi into a McDonald’s.
The after hours drive-thru happened early this morning in Palermo when a VW driver ran a red light at the intersection of Santa Fe and Godoy Cruz. The driver of the red Volkswagen Gol allegedly crashed into two cars: a Fiat Palio and a late-model Audi TT Coupe RS being driven by Argentina footballer and All Boys defender Jonathan Ferrari.
The impact sent the Fiat spinning and the Ferrari-driven Audi crashing through the glass of the McDonald’s at the intersection of Santa Fe and Godoy Cruz. Fortunately the accident occurred around 12:20 when the restaurant was closed. Ferrari and the occupants of the Fiat were not injured, but the driver and passenger of the Volkswagen were both taken to the hospital.
Photographs from the scene of the accident would suggest the VW was heading north on Santa Fe when it smashed the driver’s side door of the Audi sending the US$104,000 coupe backwards into the front entrance of the restaurant. (Full Story in Spanish)
