Lollapalooza, the popular annual music festival created by Perry Farrell over twenty years ago, will expand its South American presence next year with a two-day event in Buenos Aires.
Lollapalooza Argentina will take place April 1 and 2 at the Hipodromo in San Isidro, a wide open green space in BA’s northern suburbs and one of the largest thoroughbred race tracks in Latin America.
Headliners for the event include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arcade Fire, Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails. Other featured acts include New Order, Johnny Marr, Pixies, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Imagine Dragon, Axwell, Ellie Goulding, Kid Cudi, Capital Cities, Lorde and Portugal The Man.
According to SPIN, all of the artists mentioned above will be playing Lollapalooza Chile in Santiago’s Parque O’Higgins on March 29 and 30, as well as Lollapalooza Brasil at SP’s Interlagos Race Track on April 5 and 6.
Buenos Aires plays host to another major music festival this weekend with Creamfields 2013 at the Costanera Sur. Featured acts at the annual electronic music festival include Underworld, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo and Sven Vath. (Full Story)
