Vinos de Lujo 2013

The 2013 edition of Vinos de Lujo will feature over 300 of Argentina’s best wines.

Late spring in Buenos Aires is prime time for two of the country’s best sporting events: polo watching and wine tasting. The Abierto is underway in Palermo with the usual suspects from Ellerstina and La Dolfina dominating, and polo’s ultimate pairing returns to the Alvear Palace next week.

The 2013 edition of Vinos de Lujo sponsored by ICBC will feature over 300 of Argentina’s best wines from 50 of the country’s most celebrated wineries including Catena Zapata, Clos de los Siete, Dante Robino, Familia Schroeder, Graffigna, Navarro Correas, Norton, Piatelli, Salentein, Trapiche and Zuccardi.

Considering the average price of the wines served at Vinos de Lujo 2013 range from US$20 to US$300 a bottle, the 350 peso price of admission is quite reasonable. As an added bonus, multiple Vinos de Lujo exhibitors will also present a wide variety of Argentine cheeses, cold cuts, chocolate, olive oil and pickles among other surprises.

And for those looking for an even more unique Argentine food and wine experience, the Vinos de Lujo Dinner will feature a six-course meal paired with six of Argentina’s best wines. Prepared by the Alvear’s Executive Chef Jean-Paul Bondoux, the Dinner (1,500 pesos) will be limited to 250.

The event flows from Monday, December 2 to Friday, December 6 with the first two days limited to clients of ICBC and the last three evenings open to the public.
