With a relatively strong dollar, a plummeting peso and an abundance of summer travel deals, inbound tourism is on the rise again in Buenos Aires and the rest of Argentina. So where will you get the most bang for your travel buck in terms of hotels?
A new survey from Buenos Aires-based Trivago sheds light on average prices for hotels in Buenos Aires, Mendoza and a dozen other top tourist destinations in Argentina. The cheapest destinations were typically well north of Buenos Aires like San Miguel de Tucuman (US$87.38), Cordoba ($101.00), Rosario ($110.63) and Salta ($113.38).
Average hotel prices in Buenos Aires (US$118.75), Mendoza ($116.00) and San Rafael ($128.38) are all 20-30% below the average price for a hotel room nationwide (US$159.00).
The most expensive hotel rooms in Argentina are concentrated in the Patagonia Lake District including downhill skiing destinations Bariloche (US$210.25), San Martin de los Andes ($223.88) and Villa La Angostura ($341.88). (Full Story in Spanish)
